To all those conveyancing parents out there, if you think your child is bored at the dinner table during a discussion about rush deals or mortgage instructions or not having enough time in your day, let me tell you, they are!

However, that does not mean they aren’t listening and learning valuable lessons. As a child of a conveyancing parent, my Mother, I spent many dinners hearing all about the conveyancing industry. While I didn’t understand what trust accounts, purchase files and LOTR declarations were at the time, what I did absorb became essential to my future. Lessons such as how to properly manage time, accountability, and how to manage your emotions. These lessons were my shepherds in my life, and in a full circle moment, right back to the conveyancing industry when it brought me to GoVeyance.

When I arrived at GO, I knew I had joined something special. I had heard that the company became profitable within a year of operations, quite a feat for a tech start-up. When I met the team, I understood why. Everyone commits 100% to making the experiences for our clients the best they can be. Every piece of feedback is given special attention, every phone call is answered, and every hand is raised, ready to help. The experience really does matter.

As I became more involved with the various facets of the company, I became enamoured with the process and saw the words “built for the community, by the community” come to life. We listen, build, and repeat, resulting in smiles when we add the very thing they had requested. Makes my job a lot easier!

The fact of the matter is that this is the solution conveyancers need. I hear my Mom and our dinner conversation today, “Where was GoVeyance 20 years ago?”. “How did they do that and so fast?” Now backed by Teranet, we are ready to take things to the next level. The future is bright for BC, and Sunday dinners aren’t so boring anymore.
